Thursday, February 7th saw me traveling to go and pick up our new, sweet, 5 year old girl. I saw her picture and description online, and just couldn't resist. She had been in an institution for 4 months after being abandoned by her mother, and I just couldn't leave her there. Dave and I had decided to keep it quiet, just in case something didn't work out for whatever reason.
She has been adapting very well to her new life in our family, and has been sleeping in our room at night. I had always loved the name Sophia, and we're calling her "Sophie" as a nickname, which seems to fit her sweet personality perfectly.
She's been stuck to me like glue, following me from room to room around the house. I haven't been able to take a lot of time off of work for this adoption, so Dave has been taking care of things during the day at home. Sophie is loving playing at the park with the other girls, and is soaking up all the love and attention we give her. She was scared for the first couple of days, but that has worn off fairly quickly.
Oh - and in case you're completely bewildered at this point: Sophie is a cocker spaniel. :-) I'll upload pictures sometime soon.
